Following Sinbad the Sailor on his enforced 8th voyage to recover the Pearl of Peace, Bishopstoke Players’ latest pantomime was well served by a finely-honed script, containing some good jokes, and imaginative direction by Chris Shehan to create an energetic and amusing show.

The production made good use of the auditorium and was enlivened by inventive lighting and effects.

Assistant director (and Sinbad) Rachel Craig oversaw some nicely conceived musical numbers.

A visually stunning show, it had a well-constructed set – used to great effect in the storm scene on the ship – and a vivid array of costumes.

While all the cast were beautifully attired, special mention is due to Wendy T Morgan, who created the dame’s amazing wardrobe.

This was very much an ensemble piece and all the cast gave their all.

Jon Morgan (dame Norma Snickers), however, very nearly stole the show.
