WITH green-screen technology and pink roller skates Romsey’s adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk is not to be missed.

Described as “a hilarious family pantomime”, the performance will be hitting the Plaza Theatre’s stage tonight.

Romsey Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (RAODS) will be performing the famous pantomime with the green-screen technology that has never before been seen at The Plaza. It will be used to create some larger-than-life special effects.

Other innovations include laser lighting, a scarily villainous giant’s wife hurtling across the stage on pink roller skates, and a selection of modern music that will rock the Plaza!

Director Georgette Ellison said: “I wanted to create a show that would appeal to the young people of Romsey, while still remaining true to the most important traditions of family pantomime.

“So, although we’re using video effects and some really funky new music, we’ve also got all the familiar ingredients that audiences know and love, including a slapstick baking scene, a ballet-dancing pantomime cow, and plenty of opportunities for audience interaction... oh yes we have!”.

Tickets for the performance, that runs until Saturday, January 31, are priced at £12 and can be purchased from plazatheatre.com or by telephoning 01794 512987.
