THE course of true love never did run smooth...
Join Southampton University Players for a new production of one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies A Midsummer Night's Dream at Nuffield Theatre next week.
Love doesn't get any tougher (or funnier) than this!
To commemorate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, Southampton University Players is bringing one of his best-loved romantic comedies to the Nuffield stage - a tale of love and lust and fairies and magic.
This sparkling new production promises to be full of laughter, beauty, excitement and surprises.
Written during a highly creative period in Shakespeare’s life, which also brought us Romeo and Juliet and Richard II, The Dream skilfully interweaves four separate plots and four different groups of people. It features a host of familiar characters: from Oberon, King of the Fairies - at loggerheads with his wife Titania - to the impish jester Puck and the actor Bottom, famously transformed into an ass.
A Midsummer Night's Dream runs from Tuesday to Saturday.
