CURTAIN CALL REVIEW
Cinderella
Westfield Productions
The Point, Eastleigh
WRITER/director Paul Munday ended his tenure in this role with an enjoyable, energetic production of Cinderella, very much a pantomime with a traditional feel. With a cast ranging from tiny tots to adults, this was a show that both catered for, as well as starred, all ages.
Still finding its feet on opening night, the show was nevertheless settling into its pace and featured some really knock out musical numbers. There were an array of fabulous costumes as well as wonderful use of lighting. Cinderella's carriage was a work of art.
The show was buoyed by strong central performances. Becky Keen made a charming Cinderella and sang the role well. Sarah Channell was just right as the Prince and had a good rapport with Beki Holdaway as Dandini. Most impressive was Steve Phillips (Buttons) who had brought an easy charm and commanding stage presence to the role.
