HE’s best known as Doctor Who number six.

But in his 33rd festive appearance, he’s actually something of a pantomime expert.

It’s your last chance to see Colin Baker as Abanazar in The Anvil’s version of Aladdin before it closes on Sunday.

“They’re all the same in many ways, it’s still behind you!” he said.

“I’ve done them all, principal boy, dame, villain, and they’re all favourites, but this is the first time I’ve played Abanazar and it’s very exciting.

“I have lots of interaction with the audience and for them it’s a big part of their Christmas.

For me, It’s like Christmas Day every day!”

Colin, who spent his short festive break at home in rural Buckinghamshire with his wife Marion, their four daughters, three dogs, two cats, two goats, four horses, two guinea pigs and four chickens, is looking forward to some welcome days off in January after a busy few months which saw him travel the world celebrating the 50th year of Doctor Who.

The 70-year-old, a contestant in last year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, is still a fan of the legendary series.

He added: “When it came back, it came back completely reinvigorated. What they can do now with the special effects is exponentially more impressive than anything they were ever able to do back in my day.

“The programme now has a new lease of life, an unbelievable 50 years since the first show.”
