A NEW season of laughs and light entertainment gets under way at Hanger Farm Arts Centre tomorrow.

Eminently silly sketch outfit WitTank invite you into the charmingly warped world of The School; a deranged and archaic institution with a dizzying array of loveable eccentrics, diabolical lunatics and malevolent buffoons. So tuck your shirt in, sit up straight, keep off the grass, don’t answer back and enjoy the show. Welcome to boarding school.

The effortlessly funny duo ShooShooBaby have toured the UK extensively and have earned themselves a reputation for excellent singing and musicianship.

Their show Off the Scale, on Thursday, includes witty new arrangements of well-known songs by an eclectic cast of composers such as Irving Berlin, John Denver, Verdi & Elvis Costello, alongside original music.

Award-winning comedian Jo Caulfield is back on March 21 with a hilarious new show.

Jo’s always wondered why anger is seen as such a bad thing. When life presents such irritations as vacuous celebrities, endless TV quiz shows, arrogant shop assistants, emotionally ‘challenged’ men, drunken girlfriends who always pick the wrong partner, and a husband who continually quotes The Godfather, surely having a good rant – and a good laugh – is the only sensible reaction? Enjoy your anger.

Starring the sensational Peter Gill, The Jerry Lee Lewis Story tells the tale of the first wild man of rock.

From his meteoric rise to fame through hits such as Great Balls of Fire and Whole Lotta Shakin to his equally as fast fall from grace when he married his 13 year old cousin, back to his reinstatement as one of music’s biggest names with his triumphal return to the top in the mid 1960s when he performed at The Star Club in Hamburg.

Set to hit the stage on March 22, the show features more than 20 of The Killer’s greatest hits.

The venue’s new event guide is out now, packed with a variety of events to continue the season at the 16th century barn in Totton.
