TWO Hampshire youth theatres joined forces for an arts project which raised £300 for the Royal British Legion.
The Fareham and Basingstoke Fluid Motion theatres came together for Mrs Gill's Grand Matinee as part of the Great War centenary commemoration.
The project saw children, young people and members of the community learn about World War One through research which they used to create a piece of original theatre.
The performance took the Winchester Chesil Theatre audience back to Christmas 1914 and explored any family links with soldiers serving on the front line.
Half of the ticket and cake sales raised the cash for the legion.
Artistic director of Fluid Motion Theatre Company, Leigh Johnstone, said: “The whole community came together to commemorate the centenary in such a wonderfully creative way. We are so proud of all the children and young people who took part and thank you to all who came and supported them.”
