RISING dance stars meet top choreographers at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday as Mapdance celebrates its tenth anniversary with a show sure to appeal to all lovers of contemporary dance.

The evening features dance works by world renowned choreographers performed by the University of Chichester’s MA touring company. The 13 performers comprise dynamic young dancers recruited nationally and internationally.

The dances range from the gentle and lyrical to the fast and physical. The show offers energy, humour and intricate choreography in a mix of styles and music.

The programme will include the wacky History Repeating by Liz Aggiss and the ever popular Roughcut (1990) by Richard Alston. Me And Then by Lee Brummer and Israel Aloni explores the young self inside the older self. Passage by Kevin Finnan is a valediction for refugees who have tried to escape in small boats. The elegant Schemes, Dreams And Machines by Abi Mortimer of Lila Dance is inspired by Leonard da Vinci.
