HAVING screened many of Carlos Acosta's smash hit productions at the Regent Centre, theatre bosses have now booked the man himself to come and talk about his amazing career.

The special event, in Christchurch tonight, is a complete sell out.

Carlos has danced with many companies including the English National Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba, Houston Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. He was a permanent member of The Royal Ballet between 1998 and 2015. In 2003, he was promoted to Principal Guest Artist, a rank which reduced his commitment, enabling him to concentrate on a growing schedule of international guest appearances and tours.

He celebrated his farewell after 17 years at The Royal Ballet, dancing his last performance in November 2015 in Carmen, which he both choreographed and starred in.

Described as the greatest male dancer of his generation, Carlos will be sharing his inspiring story accompanied by some unique film footage of his achievement, dedication and success against the odds, coming from abject poverty to the rarefied heights of the world’s greatest stages.
