RISING Star Shane Shambhu will present a tale of crosscultural love through a dynamic re-invention of Indian dance when he makes his debut appearance at The Point.

Performing with his eponymously named company, dancer, actor and choreographer Shane Shambhu will showcase Leaving Only A Tr ace, a stunning new work that fuses the traditional South Indian dance form Bharata Natyam with contemporary dance and theatre.

Exploring what it is like to be of dual-heritage in the UK, Leaving Only A Tr ace is a revealing story about a young British Asian man who realises the only way to find himself is to leave home. The piece questions how a person of dualheritage can find love in a modern world especially faced with traditional cultural values.

Shane Shambhu Company, a collective of multi-cultural contemporary performance artists, designers and makers, is fast earning a reputation as a company leading the re-invention of the Indian classical dance form of Bharata Natyam.

Shane Shambhu Company presents Leaving Only A Trace at The Point in Eastleigh on Thursday, February 23 at 6.30pm.

Tickets are free to audiences of Shobana Jeyasingh’s premiere Classic Cut that will be performed on that day at 7.30pm.
