IT will be a home soil performance for Lucy James when she appears in the Mayflower’s latest show, which opens today.
For Lucy, pictured , will not only be performing in the ensemble cast of Leonard Bernstein’s hit musical comedy Wonderful Town, she is also the show’s assistant choreographer and dance captain.
Born and brought up in Winchester, Lucy, 29, attended Thornden School in Chandler’s Ford and Barton Peveril College in Eastleigh.
She is working alongside Wonderful Town’s main choreographer, Andrew Wright, who has just been nominated for an Olivier Award for his work on West End smash Singin’ in the Rain.
“I am so proud to be part of such an amazing company, having been involved right from the start of the audition process to being in the middle of the action every night,” said Lucy.
“I am so excited that Southampton is on the tour schedule because I learnt to dance at the Emjay School of Dancing in the city, and I was always taken to the Mayflower to see shows from a young age.”
