IT is the highlight of Ringwood’s social calendar drawing hundreds of people into the New Forest town.
The Ringwood Carnival, which has been an annual event since 1929, features a fun fair, stalls and street entertainment from live bands, buskers, stilt walkers, jugglers and clowns.
Scores of decorated floats led by carnival queen Scarlett Smith and her attendants Paige L’Anson and Taylor Button will take part in a children’s procession which leaves the Parkside Estate at 2pm and returns at 3pm. A later torchlight procession will run between 7.15pm and 8.30pm before the day ends with a firework finale.
The carnival has been organised by the Ringwood Carnival Society every September since 1929 and money raised from the event is divided between local charities
