A CYCLIST seriously hurt in a hit-and-run crash has died, according to his family.

Relatives of 46-year-old Brian Tozer have said that he passed away on Sunday at 2.28pm in Southampton General Hospital.

Now tributes have been paid to him by those who knew him.

As reported by the Daily Echo, Mr Tozer, a chef from Andover, was struck while he was riding his bike in the town, shortly after midnight in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The family of Mr Tozer have now confirmed that he has died and that they are extremely saddened by the loss.

Mourners took to social media to comfort the family, with one saying: "I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family xx."

Others read: "My sincere condolence mate, such a loss. My thoughts are with you."

"How sad I am really sorry to hear this, my thoughts are with you and your family xx."

A 28-year-old man from Andover was arrested on suspicion causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and has been released on bail until June 28.
