Motorists have been warned of a full weekend closure on the M3.

Those travelling towards London are urged to plan ahead as the motorway will be closed between junctions 4a and 3.

The carriageway will be shut from 9pm on February 9 until 6am on February 12.

It comes after National Highways identified several maintenance issues earlier this year.

A spokesperson from the company said: “While works are progressing well, weekend closures are necessary to allow contractors to complete the work.

“This includes installation of an upgraded barrier, resurfacing, road markings and removal of traffic management measures. “Drivers are being advised to plan ahead and leave extra time for their journeys.

“The M3 London bound carriageway will be fully closed (from 9pm to 6am) between junctions 4a at Farnborough/Fleet and 3 at Bracknell/Woking.“

The London-bound slip road, approaching from Frimley, will also be closed at junction 4 over the same weekend.

Road users should allow extra time to complete their journeys and follow the official diversion route which will be fully sign-posted.
