The Chase star Mark Labbett will be staying in Eastleigh for an extra day thanks to popular demand.

'The Beast', who first appeared on the ITV quiz show in 2009, will take on quizzers at the Concorde Club on Thursday, April 11.

But after that show sold out in just a week, he has announced a second show the next day.

Mark’s partner Hayley Palmer – a television presenter in her own right, who’s anchored shows on Sky TV and GB News – will help co-host the event, with the pair affectionately being labelled ‘The Beast and the Beauty,’ the former of which Mark, 59, gained from his fame on The Chase, after becoming notoriously hard to defeat.

Mark told the Echo: “It's always nice when you get to do two quiz nights!

“I'm looking forward to seeing what Southampton has to offer.”

Looking ahead to the two nights of entertainment, Hayley, 42, who grew up in Fareham, added: “I'm really excited to bring everyone together for these two nights.

“Growing up in Fareham it's lovely for me to see people I grew up with all coming together for these special nights.

“I wish my friends luck trying to beat Mark – I'll stick to hosting my round which will be a Celebrity/Showbiz round!"

She continued: "I think it's important to keep the community spirit in the Southampton area, and what better way than a quiz and curry!

“The quiz at The Titchfield Mill was such a success that we wanted to do another quiz in the local area.”

This comes after the couple raised £2,000 for various Hampshire charities at their last quiz night.

Commenting on the upcoming quiz nights, Jamie Mathieson, owner of the Concorde Club said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark and Hayley for a second night of quizzing with The Beast and The Beauty!

“The first date sold out in a week, so we added the second date to help the disappointed people who weren't quick enough to book the first date.

“People are certainly keen to pit their wits against 'The Beast.'”
