Meet the most romantic men in the south!
From surprise proposals and extravagant gifts to touching stories of enduring love, the men of Southampton have proved themselves an astonishingly romantic bunch.
WINNER: Tom Curran from Hythe
When we launched our search for the South’s Most Romantic Man we couldn’t have predicted quite how charming the men of Hampshire really are.
The Love Panel – including representatives from the Daily Echo and WestQuay shopping centre – have had their work cut out choosing which regional Romeo deserves the title.
Finalist No1: Trevor HealyM.p>
It seems that chivalry isn’t dead and some of the most impressive entries were those in which husbands and boyfriends showed their affection with simple but thoughtful gestures – like the university student who wrote his girlfriend a love letter for every day they spent apart.
Equally, there were some lucky ladies whose partners lavish them with expensive treats on a regular basis.
This Valentine’s Day we are celebrating the most romantic day of the year by introducing you to the south’s most romantic men.
Finalist No 2: Mike Whitewood
