HAMPSHIRE police today revealed that they will again go back to the Crown Prosecution Service with regard to whether Shelly Adams should face any criminal charges.
A spokeswoman confirmed that senior investigating officers and CPS officials would meet, in light of the inquest, to look once more at the evidence.
Central to those discussions will be whether Ms Adams should face any other action regarding the care of her children, Bradley and Jayden.
Meanwhile a Serious Case Review is under way into the deaths of both youngsters to look at the roles all agencies played and whether mistakes were made or lessons are now to be learned.
Keith Makin, independent chairman of the Southampton Safeguarding Children Board, said: “The tragic deaths of two children from the same family clearly merits a detailed investigation.
“The Southampton Safeguarding Children Board has commissioned a Serious Case Review to investigate the facts and establish whether there are any specific recommendations that might help improve public services for children and young people.
“I propose to ensure that the Serious Case Review is published as soon as possible once the review is completed.”
