High expectations, high standards, high grades

Richard Taunton Sixth Form College is driven by a desire to make a positive difference to all of our students. Situated in the centre of Southampton, we offer a wide variety of A-Level and vocational courses with a focus on strong teaching and learning.

We have a dedicated provision for gifted and talented students, offering extensive opportunities to progress into employment or higher education. We also provide specialist support for talented musicians through our School of Music, and for high-performing sportspeople through our Talented Athlete Scheme.

In our latest Ofsted inspection we were graded us ‘Good’ in all areas. We were praised for the high quality of the exciting and innovative lessons our teachers deliver and the fact that our staff “monitor students’ progress closely”, ensuring that our students remain on target to progress successfully along their chosen career path.

We are constantly developing our facilities and in Spring 2014 we unveiled our £1.5million Music Centre. This state-of-the-art building houses our entire music and performing arts provision and boasts suites of rehearsal rooms, Apple Mac suites, performing spaces and recording studios. Our latest project sees our new Independent Learning Centre open in Summer 2015, a purpose-built area for students to study and foster good work habits.
